Around Town

Since Summer's started, Marcie and me haven't had time to hang out. But this Wednesday we finally had a chance to hang around town and make our ritual trip to get bubble tea ♥

We found this really cool, vintage store/hair salon called Wonderland! It's so cute inside, and there were a lot of neat trinkets. We also talked about comic books with the lady and man who worked there, ha.

There was a hipster white rabbit to the left that I didn't get a photo of!

Cute TOM shoes at this other store.

Meow!

Made a stop at the comic book to pick up my comics and found this in the back.

Then we stopped at the consignment store. I like Shonen Knife so I had to get this button when I saw it.

Ice cream break! Marcie had cotton candy and I had the Bee's Knees sundae (honey and roasted almonds ♥).

We sat outside World Market and ate them before going in. I bought a Ramune and some Kinder chocolate (country cereali is my favorite ♥).

Random things in the store.
That's all from us for now! I know since I've been home, I've been working on some artsy stuff for my store, plus crying over Teen Wolf. That show has taken over my soul as usual.
See you soon!

All Around The World

I hope you all are having a wonderful summer so far! I recently came back from my trip to Ecuador, which was amazing. Prior to that, since my suitemate and I had to leave early for it, we missed our senior's graduation. Fortunately, we threw them a little graduation party before we left.

Hannah Montana made a special guest appearance ♥

Here are some photos from my trip to Ecuador!

Things I'm Doing This Summer

So far, anyway.

♥ Traveling ♥

My roommate is from South America, and so this Friday I'm going home with her for a little while!

This is my first time out of the country. Ever. And it's my first time since since I was about 11-12-years-old that I've been on an airplane. I'm so excited and anxious and I just can't wait.

♥ Roadtrip ♥

Hopefully, I'll be going on a roadtrip to Florida with Marceline and another friend! (If I'm not too broke.) One of my suitemates lives here, so if I do go, hopefully I might be able to stop by for a hello and a hug.

♥ Warped Tour ♥

I still need to buy my ticket, but I am definitely going to Warped Tour again this year. There's so many bands I want to see (I See Stars, Allstar Weekend, Billy Talent, The Beautiful Bodies, to name a few..), I'm actually worried I might not get to see them all! Last year was amazing, and I've no doubt this year will be just as rad.

Those are just the three major things I'm doing this summer. I also plan on being more crafty--making more dolls for my store, and other cute things like deco badges. What are your plans for this summer?

Musicians I've Been Listening To Lately

It seems like all my favorite bands decided to release their new albums all at the same time, and I've yet to be able to purchase them all, sadly. Till then, here are two albums that I've been playing nonstop recently.

Rykarda Parasol is an American singer-songwriter whose style of music is described as "Rock Noir." I found out about her last summer when one of her songs, Baudelaire, was featured in the Polish film Suicide Room (which turned out to be one of my new favorite films).  She recently came out with her third album, Against The Sun

First song from the album and also my favorite, "The Cloak of Comedy."

Favorite Tracks
Atheists Have Songs Too
I Know My Journey Will End
I Vahnt Tou Beh Alohne
How Ever Measure or Far
Island of the Dead (O Mi, O My)
The Cloak of Comedy

What I love most about Rykarda is that her songs sound like narratives. They do tend to be very haunting, and her songs are perfect for calm days when you want to relax.

Bleached is a "Rock n' Roll Post-Punk" band from Los Angeles, starring sisters Jennifer and Jessie Clavin. In my opinion, they're one of those bands whose songs you want to listen to all summer long. Or all year long. They recently came out with their debut album, Ride Your Heart, and it's every bit of perfection.
